Walk To Please Our Father - Part III
Walking circumspectly is a biblical concept that calls believers to live with caution, prudence, and careful consideration of all possible consequences before taking action. In Ephesians 5:15-21, Paul contrasts this wise approach with foolish living, urging Christians to redeem the time because the days are evil. This doesn't mean we can recover wasted time, but we can change how we use our remaining time, buying up every opportunity for obedience, service, and worship. Understanding God's will is essential for walking circumspectly. While many struggle with knowing God's specific plan, we can focus on His general will for all believers: sanctification, spiritual growth, mind renewal, and conformity to Christ's image. As we fulfill these aspects, His specific guidance becomes clearer. The wisest approach is walking in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, which Paul contrasts with drunkenness. Both involve being controlled by an outside power, but the Spirit produces righteousness, self-control, and wisdom rather than excess and foolishness. A Spirit-filled life manifests as joyful expression through worship, constant gratitude regardless of circumstances, and mutual submission to fellow believers. By walking circumspectly and in the Spirit's fullness, we can navigate this evil world with purpose and effectiveness.
