Living a Holy Life: How to Partner with God | The Drive Podcast
Imitating Christ represents the essential progression in our Christian journey—moving beyond merely learning about Jesus to actually living like Him. Ephesians 5:1-2 commands us to be imitators of God as beloved children, walking in the same sacrificial love that Christ demonstrated. Just as children naturally mimic their parents, we as God's children should develop His character traits of purity, holiness, justice, and love.This imitation requires sacrifice—not physical death, but the death of our old nature and self-will. Romans 12:1-2 calls us to present our bodies as living sacrifices, which means daily putting off our former ways and putting on our new nature in Christ. When we destroy the old self, our lives become a sweet-smelling aroma to God. Unfortunately, many Christians have lost reverence for God's holiness, approaching Him casually rather than with the awe described in Scripture. Prayer connects us to God and enables us to walk in love, making us the fragrance of Christ to those around us. To partner with God in becoming holy, we must meditate on His Word, renew our minds, and focus on whatever is true, noble, just, and pure. The evidence of genuine faith is visible transformation—being changed from glory to glory as we reflect God's character in our daily lives.
